How to Forward (Divert) Calls from your SIP Service

This article applies to SIP Trunk or Multiline SIP Phone services only. Does not apply to Hosted PBX.  Some SIP telephone systems may not allow feature codes to be dialed. Feature may need to be enabled by your phone system vendor.

If you need to divert all incoming calls to another (e.g. a mobile phone), follow the steps below:

Enabling the Diversion

  1. Select an available line on your telephone system and wait for a dial tone
  2. Dial *21* followed by the mobile number e.g.  *21*0400111111
  3. Listen for the voice prompt indicating that the unconditional call forward is active
  4. Hang up the call.

Note: You generally do not need to repeat this for each line on your telephone system.  If you receive a fast-busy or similiar tone, try dialing a little quicker. If you do not receive a prompt, your telephone system may not allow feature codes.

Disabling the Diversion

  1. Select an available line on your telephone system and wait for a dial tone
  2. Dial #21#
  3. Listen for the voice prompt indicating that the unconditional call forward is disabled
  4. Hang up the call.
