Cheat Sheet – Holding, Parking and Transferring (Snom)

Call Parking

Call Parking is the easiest form of transferring a call.  A call is “parked” so that it can be held for another staff member to pickup at the time of their choosing.  This is ideal for small offices.

  1. While you are on the call with the calling party, press PARK 1   (or Park 2, Park 3, Park 4)
  2. The phone system will either BEEP or will play the message This call has been parked
  3. The corresponding park light will begin to flash
  4. Press the extension button of another staff member (or communicate face-to-face) to advise them that a call is waiting on park.
  5. Press the corresponding park light to retrieve the call.

Note: The park key is a programmable key, designated by a red light.

Call Holding

This will place the call on hold so that you may retrieve it in a short time frame.  Other staff cannot intercept or retrieve the call.

  1. While the call is connected, press the HOLD button on either the display or function key
  2. Press the same button again to retrieve.

Call Transfer

Blind Transfer will not give you the opportunity to introduce the call.  Attended Transfer will allow you to speak with another staff member before transferring.

BLIND TRANSFER

  1. While the call is connected, press the TRANSFER key on the display or function key
  2. Press the BLF (Extension Key)  of the person you want to transfer to     (or dial their number and press Tick)
  3. The call will automatically transfer to the third party

ATTENDED TRANSFER

  1. While the call is connected, Press the BLF (Extension Key) of the third party
(or Press Hold, Dial a number, and press Tick)
  2. Speak to the third party, if they accept the call:
Press the TRANSFER key on the display or function key
  3. If they deny the call, hang up and select the flashing line key.
